I began this piece right after my husband took a 200 meter vertical fall down KT-22 in Squaw Valley and tore his acl. About a month after his ski accident on their drive back up to Tahoe to celebrate my forty-fifth birthday, he and my son were in a car accident. My car was totaled. By some miracle they walked away without a scratch. Two days later I turned 45 years old and a week later I finished this piece. It's messy, it's beautiful, it has dark moments but the color and light boldly shine through. The lense through which we choose to see the world is our choice. To be grateful is to find joy and beauty in almost any situation.
